Week One is Now Underway! (Here’s some Write-in Info)

Posted by Niassa on November 2, 2015 in NaNoWriMo 2015 |

Welcome to another exciting year of NANOWRIMO!!!! Who else is excited? I know I can’t be the only one! Bwahahahaha!

Okay, first, let me apologize for the number of regional emails you may have been receiving. We don’t normally send too many, but when we do, it’s usually right before and/or right at the beginning of NaNo. Now that we’re into the swing of things, you’ll likely only receive a Regional email from us once a week—unless there’s something super important to share with y’all. I’ll try to keep them short and sweet.

Thanks to those who made it to the Kick-off Party. What an amazing time we had! If you weren’t able to make it this year, that’s okay… there’s always next year! Check out some pics from the party here!

I’ve seen in a few locations (not on the official forums) that some people are surprised we have organized write-ins. This ought to be a shock to them—we have at least ONE write-in every single day of the week! If you’re looking for a write-in—and I highly suggest you come to at least one, because they truly are amazing, inspirational, motivational, and just downright fun—look no further than our official calendar! (Or our weekly regional emails where we outline the write-ins for the week.) You can find our calendar on our regional forum, on our Facebook page, or directly on Google.

So, that said, here is a current list of this week’s upcoming write-ins (ALWAYS check the calendar for the most up-to-date information, though!):

  • Monday, November 2
    • Auraria Faculty and Staff (all are welcome) from 2pm – 4pm

One last reminder:

Whether you use a USB drive, external hard drive, cloud storage of some sort (Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, etc.), or some other format, just remember to backup your work. Don’t be like me and lose over 15k words like I did a couple of years ago! If you’re looking for something to use to do your backups, I HIGHLY recommend the NaNoWriMo silicone USB drive bracelet. It’s always with you, if you wear it, and it’s stylish and functional! And even better, some of the proceeds from the purchase goes directly to NaNoWriMo as an organization so that we can keep doing this amazing thing each year.

If you have any questions/concerns, feel free to reach out on the forums, or through one of the other means listed below.

Write on? RIGHT ON!
